What's in a Name - LOL

What’s in a Name ???

First there was Global Cooling, then Global Warming, now it’s called Climate Change. Seems there was some worry over the fact that the Globe was not actually warming but might be cooling; necessitating a change back to the old name which they thought would make them look foolish so they came up with an easy fix – change the name, now no matter what happens in the Climate it is caused by Humans and will take trillions to fix. Style over substance always sells. Boy are we really gullible.

Just ask the President. Lol

On top of that another (flood) gate just opened and it’s called Climategate.

I Digress: on to another possible name change. The Community organizers dream called ACORN has befallen upon hard times: from James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles Investigative journalism broke by Breitbart on his Big Government site to the Congress defunding ACORN.

Then recently the office of ACORN that was investigated and which caused such a fuss that they did some “house cleaning” and dumped 20,000 or so files into the dumpster out back. Ooops they forgot about “dumpster divers”. Among the documents found was one that talked about ways to deflect the recent criticism. You guessed it - Change the name. There was a lot of talk about name changing but what was curiously lacking was any talk of substantive reform or change of what caused the problem in the first place.

Now we have the US Justice Department helping to find ways around the Congress’ defunding.

I guess there is some part of “defunding” that I didn’t understand. I knew I should of went to law school.

Next if you remember Congress voted for the Stimulus bill to make sure unemployment didn’t get to double digits; well now it has so they are thinking about a second Stimulus – no wait just a minute said Steny Hoyer House Democrat Leader. Here is what he said.

{ "I wouldn't characterize it as a second stimulus," House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said Tuesday. "I don't want to be as broad as that, I want it to be very targeted on jobs."}

Here is the link to the quote. As you can see the second Stimulus after the first will be hard to swallow.

Gee let’s call it a Jobs bill. O is well and what a joke.

I can go on and on with name changes made to hide the meaning of things; or at least to confuse the issue.

Union backed Democrat, bill to take away employees right to a secret ballot to determine whether they want a Union or not; is called “Employee Free Choice Act”.

The Stimulus, which hasn’t seemed to stimulate anything other than bigger government, being another case in point.

Again the Clean Water Restoration Act has nothing to do with restoring the Clean Water Act. Rather it expands it.

Let us not forget “Net Neutrality” and the “Fairness Doctrine”; these are neither neutral nor fair.

O -- What a joke He is -- LOL LOL LOL

Turning the Tables. O What A Joke he Is – LOL LOL LOL

In this case a little Democrat-like is ok with me in terms of making fun of people.

As Newsmax pointed out; even the vaunted anchor of superior intellect and cunning, along with perkiness is turning her whatever she’s got on the O. Making his policies seem more like something with little substance and less credibility. In other words LOL, LOL, LOL.

Well I used to say that if the policies and stuff the O did weren’t so sad and scary, I’d laugh. Well guess what, I’m going to start laughing. ANYWAY LOL, LOL, LOL. My reasoning is summed up by Bill Whittle.

A quote from the Newsmax article above
{CBS also cited a poll showing that only 14 percent of Americans believe Obama’s claim that healthcare reform won’t add to the budget deficit, and only 7 percent believe that the stimulus has created any jobs at all.}

During the push for the stimulus the administration came up with the fear tactic that unemployment would hit double digits if we didn't pass the 800 billion stimulus package. We passed it and unemployment hit double digits any way.

Where are the jobs

The people have seen all the phoney job claims and through the internet have come up with nothing else to do when faced with deception but to Laugh Out Loud.

In other words

PS I'm sure Jay will commiserate with me. I'm a Michigan football fan and my whole family are alumni; so give me credit for having a sense of humor.

LOL I mean really, 30,000 nonexistant jobs, costing just $225,000 for each one in 440 nonexistant congressional districts. The only sad thing is that the money being ripped off from the tax payers is all too real. Never the less I'm ROTFLMAO

I mean I can't help it. Everytime I see a road reapair sign sneakily trying to give credit to O like the one below I can't help but see L on the right side and even Couric and her ilk are beginning to see one on the Left.

LLLLL
LLLLLL
Some grow into the job while others Shrink. Still O claims he is not losing weight only getting grey LOL LOL LOL What an amateur comedian he is.

A VAT Full of the Same Old Stuff

In a Newsmax article written by Theodore Kettle, something similar to a Value Added Tax within the Senate Health Care Bill was highlighted

-----link-----

---------------

As the article points out the bill – {“Each covered entity engaged in the business of manufacturing or importing medical devices shall pay to the [Treasury] Secretary not later than the annual payment date of each calendar year beginning after 2009 a fee in an amount determined under subsection (b).”} In other words the fee is just another word for tax on the business.

While this is a way not to raise the taxes on individuals, the cost of those devises will have to be raised in order to cover the cost of the fee or tax. That will only raise the cost of health care.

So in the big picture the only free health care in this or any reform will go to those who pay no taxes. I hate to beat a dead horse but this is just another example of “redistribution” of the wealth of this country. People who are paying for their own health care and companies who are paying or subsidizing health care for their employees are the ones who will pay more through fines or fees to insure those who refuse to or cannot.

As Europe has found out and is rebelling against, government run health care under any name or guise does not work and results in lower quality care. The article above points that out.

Further evidence can be found in a Heritage article written in 1991 by William D. Eggers

---------------

This article is worth a read to help define the arguement about the struggle within tax reform circles between “redistribution of wealth” vs those policies directed toward economic growth. In the article Eggers had this warning about Value Added Tax.

{Point No. 3: Be wary of the Value Added Tax (VAT Consider it only in lieu of, not in addition to, income taxes; and adopt political safeguards to ensure that theVAT is not used to fuel the growth of government as it has been in Western Europe and elsewhere}

I like to point out in the above quote the part that specifies "only in liew of, not in addition to, income taxes". When liberals call it a “modified sales tax” they mean in addition to the income tax and seems a cheap effort to win over the “Fair Tax” people. They even use the “tax rebate” language, but understand this is just a fee or tax on business on top of income tax. This is a detriment to growing capital.

One must remember that Reagan formed his tax reform policies along the same lines as Kennedy did in his tax bills, in favor of Growth. Growth of Capital, they both worked.
